When travelling between cities and towns in Cambodia, you have a few options: (shared) taxi, minibus, larger bus (coach), and plane.

We are fans of the minibus, but please note: NOT the old minibuses that pack 30+ passengers inside with more hanging out the back and people sitting on the roof. They are extremely dangerous; fatal accidents with these happen almost daily. We’re talking regular minibus services that have reasonably new vehicles, only take as many passengers as there are seats with no additional seating down the aisle, and ply regular routes.
