After the succes of the Angkor Wat Half Marathon and the Siem Reap Bike Race & Ride, the event will this year also be held in the beach resort of Sihanoukville.
On March 10 and 11, 2012, runners, bikers, and cyclers are invited to take part in the First Sihanoukville International Half Marathon and the Sihanoukville Bike Race & Ride.
Both the Half Marathon and the Bike Ride offers particpants the opportunity to take part in different race routes. Enjoy a weekend of action packed sporting events down by the beach!
Bike Race & Ride
Cycling enthusiasts, adventure seekers and dedicated fundraisers are invited to sign up for the brand new Sihanoukville Bike Race & Ride. Organised by Village Focus International, this exciting event will take place on Saturday 10th March in Kampong Som province.
Offering two different race categories – 20km & 60km – bikers will experience the true beauty of the Cambodian coastline whilst supporting VFI’s Child Protection & Child Education projects.
Commencing at 6am, the Sihanoukville Bike Race & Ride will lead cyclists on a sunrise journey that meanders through iconic areas within the province. Riding past local villages and into downtown, the course (see map) also explores coastal roads and challenging hills. A post-event beach BBQ will commend winners, runners up & top fundraisers.
Half Marathon
The motto of the Sihanoukville International Half Marathon 2012 is to "run for protecting the nature, saving our globe and the well-being of mankind".
The serious matters of pollution, global warming, unexpecting series of calamities on our globe in this century has brought a very deep concern to us all.
To save our nature and for the well being of the present- day mankind and the future generation , the organization eagerly appeals to all runners around the world come to join and share your great concern of these matters in the first Sihanoukville International Half Marathon.
Starting and finishing on the popular Ochheutal Beach, opposite the Blue Diamond Hotel, you can take part in the 3km, 10 km or 21km run.

All registration fees include a free BBQ on the beach, which will be held on Ochheuteal Beach from 11am. The BBQ lunch will also include an awards presentation for the winners and top runners up.
